Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 oz. dark rum
- 1 oz. orange curaçao
- 3/4 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1/2 oz. orgeat syrup
- 1/4 oz. simple syrup
- Ice
- Pineapple wedge, for garnish
- Mint sprig, for garnish
Instructions:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Add the dark rum, orange curaçao, lime juice, orgeat syrup, and simple syrup to the shaker.
- Shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, until the cocktail is well combined and chilled.
- Strain the cocktail into a rocks glass filled with ice.
- Garnish with a pineapple wedge and a mint sprig.
- Serve and enjoy!
Note: Mai Tais can also be made with light rum or a combination of light and dark rum, depending on your preference. You can also float a small amount of dark rum on top of the cocktail before serving for an added depth of flavor.
